Northeast Ohio Food & Farm participants:

You are invited to a meeting regarding creation of vital new infrastructure for food processing in Northeast Ohio.  We have a crisis and opportunity with NEOH food systems.  The discussion and work on local food system development, farmland preservation and farm viability issues has been significantly advanced over the past five years.  The demand and need for healthy food options for all Ohioans is also at a critical point.

Through discussion and partnerships between the Ohio Department of Agriculture, the George Gund Foundation, the Cleveland Food Bank, Ohio State University Extension, the Center for Innovative Food Technology and many others we have come to identify potential solutions to meet the growing need for healthy food choices and the need for processing farm produce for year round availability through flash freezing facilities.

We would like to hear from you about the possible utilization of such a facility.

The meeting will be held at the Cleveland Food Bank on Thursday, June 10th from 1:30-2:30.  The address and link to directions are listed below. Please RSVP to Jill Waite at JWaite@agri.ohio.gov if you plan to attend and please feel free to share this invitation with growers who may be interested.
