I've set up a new working group on the Ohio Local Food Systems Collaborative (OLFSC) website for OSU faculty, staff and students.  You are receiving this email because you are subscribed to the OLFSC (now accessible at localfoodsystems.org) and are now in the OSU faculty and staff group.  This group will show up in "Your Groups" on the left side of the page, but not in the groups listing visible to all users.  It serves essentially as an email listserve, and also a blogging site, for those at OSU who are interested in food systems.

I just spoke with Lisa Hamler-Fugitt from Second Harvest to learn more about how we can ensure the growing local/regional food movement doesn't leave the most food insecure folks in the dust and she directed me to the Ohio Second Harvest Food Bank Agricultural Clearance program. Here's the website that tells more and who to contact should you have a surplus of nutritious food in your field.

LFS Financial Models Organized Inquiry

webadmin's picture

I am about ready to start a perhaps 2 month process to create an http://www.communitywiki.org/OrganizedInquiry around useful, self-sustaining financial models for Local Food Systems, and local economies in general. I plan on connecting this to several online and offline communities that are exploring or implenting ideas related to the economics of local economies.

Before I do this, it would be really beneficial to have some feedback on the questions being asked.
