Vandana Shiva who wrote Stolen Harvest, Water Wars, and Monocultures of the mind-all showing how corporate agriculture has undermined biodeviersty and culture, works through Navdanya, which started as a project of teh Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Ecology. Their work to set up localized seed banks is inspiring, as is the mission of Navdanya--To Protect Nature and People's Right to Knowledge, biodiversity, water and food. Navdanya boasts a 70,000 farmer family membership in India. Maybe we can learn from their organization?
